Hello!  My name is Jennifer Morris.

I am a Licensed Professional Counselor, registered with the OBLPCT.   I have lived in Oregon all my life, attending Portland State University for my undergraduate degree (MA in Psychology), and graduating in 2008 from Lewis and Clark University with a Master of Arts in Counseling.  I've been counseling adults for over 16 years on issues ranging from dealing with life changes and stressors to anxiety, depression and other mood disorders to major mental illness. I especially enjoy working with people on aging issues and caregiving issues.

In general, counseling is the process of unpacking and exploring something - a problem, a wondering, a decision - through open discussion.  Therapy sessions are focused on what's important to you.  My role is to listen, provide support and guidance, invite new insights through questioning, help you develop new ways of coping with change and struggle, and meet your aspirations.

One of the things I like best about counseling is seeing hope and change for my clients when they discover new thoughts or new ways of living that improve life.  I enjoy hearing their stories, and am frequently in awe of their strength, creativity, and resilience - it's a special thing to be invited in to someone's life and hear their stories, and I honor that.

The good life is a process, not a state of being. It is a direction, not a destination.
